574c2967b5 Customizer: Introduce a processing state. 
The processing state will prevent a save when it doesn't return 0.
Widget Customizer will use the state to prevent a save while a widget is updating, which is an asynchronous process.

d23cd0aa50 Introduce a .dashicons-before CSS class. 
If you want to use a Dashicon before an element you can use the class because it will not change the elements content styling. With that you don't need to copy the entire `.dashicons` styling to your :before styling anymore.
To demonstrate this change, Admin Menu now uses Dashicons classes directly.

And it fixes a glitch in IE.

ffc4ca7b01 Introduce get_site_by_path() and further rewrite the site detection process for multisite. 
This is the first big step to supporting arbitrary domains and paths. In this new approach, sites are detected first where possible, then the network is inferred. Allows filtering for arbitrary path segments, smooths out some weirdness, and removes various restrictions. A sunrise plugin could do much of its work by adding filters, if those are even needed.

7ff83d46aa Allow pseudo post types attachment:audio and attachment:video to get the media modal on Edit Media when they support featured images. 
Introduces `post_supports_thumbnails( $post )` and `theme_supports_thumbnails( $post )` to cut down on duplicated code everytime this needs to be checked. There will be more cases forthcoming.

11c3695c77 Dev/build tools: Use grunt-autoprefixer for CSS vendor prefixes. 
We'll be using it for two distinct tasks:
 * Core CSS files will keep prefixes. `grunt autoprefixer:core` will update files directly in src/ as a pre-commit step, rather than doing it on build.
 * Color CSS files will receive prefixes when they are built.

This commit:
 * Adds prefixes we were missing to core CSS.
 * Removes prefixes that we no longer need from core CSS.
 * Removes all prefixes from colors CSS.

03dda3b273 Introduce maybe_regenerate_attachment_metadata( $attachment ). On the Edit Media screen, call it for Audio and Video files. 
The functions checks if the item is lacking metadata altogether. If a video or audio file was uploaded prior to 3.6, it does not have any metadata. This tries to fix it. Implements locking via a transient to protect against this running in parallel with another request.

This is the minimum viable product for #26825, but leaving the ticket open unless this function needs to be called in other places.

0100dd772a Merge colors.css into wp-admin.css. Non-default color schemes became overloads rather than swaps in the 3.8 redesign. Benefits include: 
* No more border-width, border-style, border-color insanity.
* Point releases are much less likely to require extra finagling to avoid rebuilding the color schemes.
* Yours truly has a better overall vision of ~14,000 lines of admin CSS and where we go from here.

- Move the 'Saving post' and 'Draft saved at...' strings from autosaveL10n to postL10n as they are used only there.
- Use the custom jQuery events 'before-autosave' and 'after-autosave' to show these messages.
- Separate autosave.suspend() for local and server so local autosaves can continue while server autosaves are suspended.
- Remove the recently added autosave.server.disable() and use autosave.server.suspend() instead.
- Bring back .button.disabled, button-primary.disabled and use .disabled to prevent multiple form submissions.

9f4f560258 Eliminate the 1px padding adjustment on active buttons because it creates an un-clickable dead zone 1px high and spanning the entire width of the button. Modify the background color of active buttons for better contrast to make the active state more obvious.

dfceeb7471 A few updates to the About page 
- Updated text on about-overview.png
- Changed about-typography, about-contrast, and about-modern-aesthetics from PNG24 to PNG8, saving 83 KB
- Reluctantly changed about-twentyfourteen from PNG to JPEG, because it saves a whopping 615 KB
- Tweak the headline size and styling of the about-twentyfourteen image to account for its lack of a transparent background.

7b3910917d About screen: Only show the pick-a-color section if there are 2 or more of the eight new color schemes available. And only show the eight core schemes. 
This hides the section in develop.svn /src's directory (use /build for colors) and when a plugin is manipulating/unregistering colors. In both situations, which are rare, losing the section is fine.

This removes a fallback image as we were previously showing the section in these cases; the rest of the page shows off the design (and color opportunities) well enough on its own to avoid this confusing section.

68b7f94042 A small adjustment to the page background color per yesterday's conversation with nacin, from #eee to #f3f3f3. This retains enough contrast with white widget containers while making for a more comfortable reading experiences on pages that heavily use the default background color, like the About page. A few adjustments to go along with it: 
- Horizontal rules on the About page are lighter, to match their previous level of contrast with #eee
- Eliminated the .flush-top class on <hr>s on the About page since we want the styles applied to all About page <hr>s.
- Color schemes should match the bottom border of active tabs to the scheme's body-background variable.
- Lighten the comment background color on the Dashboard activity widget to keep adequate contrast with the new lighter body background.
