Does the launcher support Java 9+?
Yes.
However, the selected combination of Minecraft, Forge, and other mods that you have chosen may not support Java 9+. At the moment, the launcher does not include extra hacks to make certain combinations work, although you are free to add them yourself to your modpack.
I have a child with a Microsoft account, and they can't login/join multiplayer servers via this launcher.
To allow your child to log in to the launcher, you must add them to an Xbox "family". You can read about this here.
For problems joining multiplayer servers, see this Minecraft help article.
